Upcoming Events
All Guild meetings are held in the historic Guildhall and are attended by the Lord Mayor and other distinguished guests. These gatherings are not only administrative but also a chance to strengthen the bonds within our community.

Lent Guild Meeting
Monday 9th March 2026
Held on the Monday after Ash Wednesday, this meeting marks the beginning of the Guild’s annual activities. It’s a time for reflection and planning for the year ahead.
Corpus Christi Guild Meeting
8th June 2026
Occurring on the first Monday after Corpus Christi, this meeting is a mid-year gathering to review progress and discuss ongoing projects. It is a pivotal moment for mid-year evaluations.
Michaelmas Guild Meeting
Monday 12th October 2026
Held on the Monday after Michaelmas, this meeting is essential for electing the Stewards Committee for the upcoming year. It is a time for strategic planning and ensuring the continuity of the Guild’s activities.
In addition to our main meetings, the Freemen of Newcastle – Shipwrights Company participate in a variety of other events throughout the year. These include:
- Lord Mayors Parade: Held on the second Sunday in May at the Cathedral, attended by the Lord Mayor.
- Remembrance Sunday: Join us in central Newcastle to honour those who have served.
- Family Events: Activities such as building bird boxes, bat spotting, and Halloween events. These are publicised on our Facebook page and require booking.
- Town Moor Events: Participate in events like the Hoppings in June and Park Runs every Sunday.
